Specialized Sonoma riding shoes..

The Specialized Sonoma MTB shoes are a recreational model, rather then pure racing - the sole is a little more flexible than a lot on the market, and they look pretty cool too.

The shoes have some suede areas, which I was a bit concerned about given the wet / muddy nature of MTB riding, but they seem OK - to clean then you just let the mud dry and brush them with a suede brush.

So far I've experienced slightly achey knees from riding them, and last night, pins and needles in my feet - both slightly worrying.. I've found that the knee thing is caused by now being too far forward on the bike; moving back on the saddle sorts this. So as a remedy, I plan to move the saddle back slightly, and move the cleats back as well. The pins and needles thing I'd heard about before - I know that this was because I was scrunching my toes whilst riding - also something that I'd never done before - not really sure why I was doing it, although it may have been the cold.

But these things are more to do with being fitted on the bike properly, and my physiology, and not necessarily issues with the shoes - more to come, including a score, once I've useed them for longer.
