Polaris Mountain Bike riding shorts

My Polaris MTB shorts were originally purchased from Halfords at a price of £19.99. These were my first pair of riding-specific shorts, having previously chosen to wear a standard pair of sports shorts.

The shorts are grey in colour, and have an inner lining of which the padded area is part. There are various pockets including the standard hip pockets, and a pop-locking pocket on the side of the leg.

One of the best features of these shorts is their longevity; I have been using them as my sole pair of riding shorts for about two years, washing them as part of a standard washing load (i.e. standard 40 degree wash) and although no doubt there has been some loss in effectiveness, they are still very much up to the job. I have recently purchased some padded boxer shorts by the same manufacturer on the back of how good these are; I bought these rather than another pair in order to reduce the total number of layers on my legs - sometimes this reaches four, with underwear, riding tights, these shorts and tracksuit trousers over the top.

This exact model is still available in Halfords, at the same price, and I cannot recommend them enough.
