Fundamentals Mountain biking (MTB) DVD

Fundamentals is an MTB DVD consisting of four main sections. The first is riding tips; this section features about 20 pro riders, all giving tips on different aspects of MTB riding. These pros' include the likes of Steve Peat, Nathan Rennie, Eric Carter, the Athertons and Greg Minnaar, to name but a few. The tips range from riding off-camber muddy sections, to riding over roots, jumping, riding drop-offs, techniques for 4x racing and much more.

The second section is all about Bike setup - (I forget the name of the bike shop - sorry guys) - it basically builds up a bike from scratch, installing parts including bottom brackets, headsets, hydraulic brakes, and more.

The third part is dedicated to setting up suspension - this features Tim Flooks, who owns T.F Tuned - one of the big names in suspension tuning. This explains the different elements of suspension tuning, such as setting compression damping and rebound, setting sag etc.

The fourth part of the DVD is under "Extra Features", and includes some of the afore-mentioned pros' debating various subjects such as the pros' and cons of clipless vs flatties.

This DVD is incredibly informative - the quality of riders appearing in it speaks volumes, and the variety of tips included is vast - there's sure to be something for everyone, even the most seasoned MTB rider. The tips are slightly biased towards downhilling and 4x, but most of them are easily applied to XC. The transition from each chapter to the next could be a little more polished in some places; sometimes the speaker will be half way through a sentence if you start watching from the start of a chapter, rather than the start of the DVD itself, but that's not a huge issue.

All in all, a really great product - buy it
