The Altura Night Vision is a wind-proof jacket available in grey, yellow, and black. It has a cycling specific cut, so is longer at the back; it has velcro
fastening straps on the cuffs to stop the wind; it has several pockets dotted round, including an easy access pocket at the front and several at the back, and has reflective
trim which aids visibility in poor light conditions. It cost £59.99 from Evans Cycles in Brighton, but I have seen it for £48.99 on
Wiggle.
At the time of writing, I have owned the jacket for about two weeks, and in that time, have used it extensively for riding to and from work (a 16 mile round
trip), riding off-road, as well as some rides wearing it on my motorbike. Being December / January, this is a good time of year to test this kind of jacket - the Brighton
coast road is certainly not short of a bit of wind!
So far, the jacket has done a great job whilst riding - I have experimented a bit with layering, and found that any of my short sleeved cycling jerseys worn
underneath this jacket provides sufficient warmth, even when riding in the evening, when the temperature can drop considerably.
The jacket has always been worn in conjunction with my Altura Altitude gloves.
I can't recommend this jacket enough - the combination of great performance and relatively low cost make this a killer product.
Overall Score: 9/10
