After going through the trees for a little while, the path starts going up the side of the forest, with a field to the right. It does get easier to pedal in spots, but is predominantly muddy, and very difficult to ride on.
At some point, the path forks; take the left fork. I can't remember whether this is before the path opens out as shown here, or whether it's when you're still in between the trees.
